Ms. Karrie Long
Welcome Espy Families! The opportunity to serve as the principal of Espy Elementary is a great privilege that I look forward to each day. Together with the families and staff at Espy, I know that we will help our children achieve more than they think is possible.
An important part of each day at Espy is our implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is behavior support system for students who are struggling as well as an acknowledgment opportunity for students when they are having behavior successes. As you enter each room and walk the halls of Espy, you will notice signs and banners detailing how to “Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful” in each location. These common expectations are explicitly taught and retaught so that everyone in the school has the same clear expectations for behavior. PBIS allows us to have a united approach in supporting student behaviors for success.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site and uniting with us for a wonderful year!

Espy Elementary Principal
Mrs. Abby Wright
It is an honor to serve as the Assistant Principal of Espy Elementary and a blessing to be a part of the Nixa School District. This will be my ninth year in education and fourth year at Nixa. Before becoming an Assistant Principal, I served as an Instructional Coach for one year and a classroom teacher for seven years. As a graduate of Nixa, I recognized the district's rich tradition of academic excellence. I am thankful to have the opportunity to uphold Nixa’s high standards of learning as I serve the students and families of Espy and the Nixa community. It is a great privilege to work and learn alongside an amazing team of educators each day who have a passion for meeting the social, emotional, and academic needs of each and every child.
My favorite part of education is building relationships. I believe every student deserves the opportunity to receive high-quality instruction and that educators play a vital role in helping cultivate a love for learning in students. It is my goal that each day every child is loved, served, and cared for when they walk through the doors of Espy Elementary. I value a positive school culture with committed educators and parents that always do what is best for students. Together, we can help our children become lifelong learners who grow to achieve their personal best in the classroom and beyond.
On a personal note, my husband, Tyler, and I reside in Nixa with our 3-year-old daughter, Kayda. In my free time, I love spending quality time with my family, watching the Magnolia network, and shopping.
I look forward to getting to know all the students and families of Espy. Please feel free to contact me anytime.
