The Nixa Eagles basketball team played Waynesville last Friday night at the Faught Administration Center in a game that honored the program's history. The second throwback game was just as entertaining as last year's, as the Eagles came away victorious. The players and cheerleaders took the floor in vintage uniforms, and the coaches sported throwback sweaters.

Second graders from Nixa and eight other school districts in the area were able to catch a free performance of “Pete the Cat” at the Aetos Center for the Performing Arts. The students enjoyed the matinee show and then returned to their schools to discuss some of the show's important themes. Katie Hoesch’s class at Century noticed some of the mistakes the main character made, but learned that it’s okay to make a mistake as long as you learn from it

The renovation of the Nixa Junior High theatre, the expansion of four classrooms, and the construction of a new multi-purpose space are more than halfway completed. The theatre is getting some much-needed upgrades, including brand new seats, a new audio-visual system, and more. Four classroom shells are now being renovated to accommodate the more than 1,000 students at the junior high. Lastly, crews have been busy constructing a new 7,000-square-foot addition that will be used for wrestling and other activities.

Thank you to Dewitt & Associates, Inc., Dake Wells Architecture, Shaffer and Hines, True Engineering, and RTM for your work on this project, and thank you to the Nixa community for supporting your schools!

Our Sodexo crews plowed and shoveled the latest snowfall to hit Nixa. Starting last Sunday, they got to work removing as much as they could in the bitter cold. An example of great teamwork came when a crew member who was stuck at home wanted to help, so another employee went to pick him up. A simple act of kindness that shows their dedication.
