Our elementary and intermediate schools offer parent-teacher conferences in the fall to discuss their students' progress. In the springtime, our schools hold a showcase event where parents can come in and see examples of their children’s work, such as art projects, and spend time in their classroom. At Summit and Inman, they incorporate those activities while welcoming incoming 4th graders and their parents. Inman Intermediate's "Route to Inman" is a fun, low-stress event for families.

Before performing at the Aetos Center for the Performing Arts this week, the well-known improv group, Second City, held a workshop for Nixa High School theatre students. Actors Phylicia McLeod and Dominic Rescigno worked with the students on the basics of improv with games and activities to help them sharpen their skills.

Over the summer, Nixa High School Junior Arianna Baker attended a leadership seminar where she got the idea to bring together students, businesses, and non-profits in Nixa. The goal was to give back to our community and help students connect with local leaders and better understand what makes their businesses thrive.
